Cates Landing is the proposed site of a slack water port on the Mississippi River.  This project provides an opportunity to
generate meaningful employment and raise the standard of living for the residents of the Lake, Dyer, and Obion Counties.  The port will have a signifigant impact on the local economy.  An adjacent industrial park will house industries that directly benefit by close proximity to a port.  The industrial park will create new, higher paying jobs and generate significant tax revenues to further benefit the area.
